Mitchells of Chester Guesthouse truly does offer a home from home experience. We really do want our guests to feel that our home is your home, and welcome a relaxed, friendly and warm atmosphere.
Your home from home
Built originally in the 1850’s but lovingly updated with all the amenities of the 21st century, Mitchells of Chester has a sweeping staircase and many of our rooms have high ceilings with moulded cornices, which provide the perfect backdrop allowing us to showcase stunning antique pieces.
The communal Lounge with views of the well maintained garden to the rear of the house, offers a gathering place for guests and groups alike. The lounge is stocked with a book library, music system and television as well as an Honesty Bar where guests can enjoy a drink at leisure. A beautiful open log fire, Jimmy our pet parrot, comfy couches and chairs, all you need to do to now, is kick off your shoes, sit back and relax.
Breakfast is served in our elegant Dining room, where a large banqueting table forms the impressive centre point of this truly lovely room. Breakfast is freshly cooked by Helen and Colin (just like Mum use to make) and guests can choose from Continental or full English breakfast. Local produce is sourced, including the famous award winning Chester sausage, and cooked in the adjacent kitchen. Vegetarian and special diets are also catered for with prior notice.
Bedrooms
All of our spacious Guest bedrooms are individually designed and decorated. Beautifully maintained, all are elegantly furnished in period style. In addition to cuddles from ‘Mitch’ our teddy bear all of our bedrooms also offer the following:
